Haggin Marketing acquires digital agency SolutionSet

Direct marketing services agency Haggin Marketing has acquired digital marketing agency SolutionSet.

Since 2006, Haggin Marketing has made a series of strategic acquisitions, including database and data management services provider I-Centrix; Coupons Inc. doing business as Getmembers.com; and The Chicago Catalog Group. These moves were intended to help Haggin build a small, but nimble, ROI-centered agency centered on data, digital and direct, said Jeff Haggin, CEO and founder of the company.

“We aim to bring a proposition to the market that is truly competitive with and superior to the legacy holding company model,” said Haggin, adding that the agency finds itself competing with more traditional agencies more and more.

In its latest acquisition, Haggin acquires a digital agency that has “built applications to engage people in communities and drive a range of different kinds of transactions,” said Haggin. SolutionSet also bring experience in digital marketing, consumer and e-commerce Web sites, communities, social media and rich interfaces for clients including eBay, TiVo, Stanford and Autodesk.

Because Haggin Marketing’s focus also is on “bringing the translation of a brand to the bottom line of the transaction,” the combination of these two companies is a “perfect match,” Haggin said.

The deal adds more than 100 employees to Haggin Marketing, bringing the total to 400. The transaction was financed by private equity firm Lake Capital.
