April L. Lane and Bela S. Mehta have been appointed to the Board of Directors of Hamilton Beach Brands Holding Company.
The board has expanded from 11 to 13 members with their addition. Alfred M. Rankin, Jr., Chairman of the Board, said the new directors bring valuable expertise.
“April brings strong e-commerce, consumer products, and strategy experience. Bela brings deep financial, operating, and strategy expertise,” he stated. Ms.
Lane currently serves as Chief Merchandising Officer at Thrive Market. She previously held leadership roles at Hearst Corporation as Chief eCommerce Officer and at Amazon for 12 years. Her earlier career included strategy positions at Limited Brands, Nike, and Boston Consulting Group.
She earned a B.A. in Sociology and Political Science from Northwestern University. Ms. Mehta has been Managing Partner at CITG Capital Partners since 2004.

She also serves as President and Board Chairman of Little Switzerland, Inc. since 2006.
She started her career as an analyst with Fidelity Capital. Ms. Mehta holds a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Michigan, an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a graduate degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Hamilton Beach Brands Holding Company designs, markets, and distributes a wide range of branded small electric household and specialty housewares appliances.
It also offers commercial products for restaurants, fast food chains, bars, and hotels. The company’s consumer brands include Hamilton Beach, Proctor Silex, Hamilton Beach Professional, and TrueAir. Its commercial brands are Hamilton Beach Commercial and Proctor Silex Commercial.
The company also licenses brands for various products, including Wolf Gourmet countertop appliances, CHI garment care products, Clorox air purifiers, and Brita water filtration appliances. It has agreements to distribute Bartesian cocktail machines and Numilk non-dairy milk machines. In February 2024, Hamilton Beach Health, a subsidiary, acquired HealthBeacon PLC, a medical technology firm specializing in connected devices.
This expands the company’s participation in the home medical market. The appointment of Ms. Lane and Ms.
Mehta to the Board of Directors aims to strengthen Hamilton Beach Brands’ corporate governance and support its strategic goals. Their e-commerce and financial expertise is expected to contribute to the company’s future growth and success.
