Database marketing software provider John H. Harland Co., Atlanta, restructured its organization so it can strengthen its relationships with customers and improve its ability to respond quickly to them. The restructuring also is designed to streamline the organization.
As part of the restructuring, a new software division will be created to combine Harland's Decision Support business in Orlando along with its compliance business in Denver. It includes a separation of corporate and line functions allowing corporate to focus on strategy and policy while line functions manage the individual business units.
A minimum of 100 positions are expected to be eliminated from the corporate headquarters in Atlanta. Harland's check business will be divided into three geographic regions with each region being responsible for the manufacturing, sales, customer support and administrative functions in its area.
