This year’s group of DMN 40Under40 winners have a few things in common. Well yes, they’re under 40. Also they have a proven track record of marketing excellence and leadership, whether they’re in roles supporting global brands, or leading their own thriving start-ups. Over the next few weeks, you’ll get to know our winners, and what they’ve accomplished.
Lauren Gentile is the Vice President of Executive Creative Director at Epsilon
What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?
Consumer expectations for digital experiences are higher than ever and our team has worked hard to provide greater efficiency and automation for clients to help them meet these expectations through data-driven creative. Leveraging modern automation, versatile email architectures and custom modules allows clients to deliver on personalization and optimize communications without sacrificing on creative or branding. I am extremely proud of the amazing (and adaptive) team we’ve built that includes some of the most strategic and creative minds in email delivering award-winning work on behalf of clients. Also, being recognized by The DMN 40 Under 40, and part of such an elite group of honorees is both incredibly humbling and something I take great pride in.
What’s the best piece of advice you can give to future 40Under40 honorees?
Hire people smarter than you, and then spend your time both leading and empowering them.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next 5 years?
Over the next 5 years I would like to lead a global strategic services organization that designs solutions leveraging artificial intelligence in real-time to fuel omnichannel creative experiences. Oh, and train to run half marathon.
What is one interesting fact about you that few people know?
Having a career in the creative industry has offered me plenty of interesting and unique opportunities. One of the most fun was being responsible for painting one of Chicago’s famous Cow’s on Parade in 2005 when the Chicago White Sox won the World Series. The cow was part of the mayor’s wager during the series – and when the White Sox won, my team and I designed a float and rode in the ticker tape parade thru the city of Chicago.
