As Memorial Day rounds the corner, travel marketers are using e-mail to promote last minute deals.
With its e-mail this week, Hotels.com is keeping travel top-of-mind by offering consumers last minute deals on hotels and on entertainment in popular destinations including Las Vegas, New York and San Diego. The e-mail includes a number of calls-to-action including a widget to search reservations, a link back to the site and the company’s 1-800 reservation telephone number. It also offers e-mail subscribers an exclusive 30% off sale for the 24 hours surrounding the mailing.
TabletHotels also is offering last minute deals in its e-mail this week, including promotions for hotels in Buenos Aires, Los Angeles and Florence. It also includes an ad for Virgin America flights with a booking tool within the e-mail. TabletHotels also is using its e-mail to promote the brand’s Twitter feed, with a link to sign up to follow the brand on the social media channel.
For United Airlines, it is all about deals for the summer and promoting its partners. Playing on summer road trips, which officially kick off this summer, their e-mail this week is calling on consumers to take advantage of their rental car partners Hertz, Avis, National, Budget and Dollar in order to earn extra miles using partners. Not a bad idea, as more consumers are looking for more economic vacations this year and may be doing less flying.
