British-owned Aegis Group PLC's Isobar interactive marketing network bought Molecular, an 11-year-old U.S. technology consultancy that designs and builds Internet-based solutions.
The acquisition is Boston-based Isobar's second in the United States and 11th worldwide in the past 10 months. Molecular will offer Internet development and technology consulting help to Isobar from its Watertown, MA, office. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Molecular brings clients such as Fidelity Investments, Hewlett-Packard Co., MFS, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, JP Morgan Chase, Analog Devices, Talbots Inc. and The TJX Companies Inc.
Its services include business process and digital strategy, online development and implementation, multi-site and multichannel integration and user experience design and redesign. Molecular also created its Single-Screen Checkout proprietary technology to cut shopping cart abandonment rates and boost online sales.
Molecular keeps its name and management. The company joins Isobar brands like Carat Interactive, Freestyle Interactive and iProspect. Isobar was created in July 2004 and has a network of 52 offices in 27 countries.
