It looks like Google‘s impressive mobile and online display advertising revenues are paying off for the company’s employees. Google management reportedly told staff in an internal e-mail this week that it’s giving them a 10% raise and a $1,000 bonus.
The raise comes as Google is fighting to keep its staff from moving to other tech-sector giants, such as Facebook. The Wall Street Journal noted that about 10% of Facebook employees have Google on their resumes. The search giant is also paying all taxes on the bonus, meaning employees get to enjoy the full $1,000.
Business Insider explains that the bonuses will cost the company about $20 million, while the raise will take $20 billion out of its pockets.
