Kim Perell, CEO, Amobee

Kim Perell is an entrepreneur, executive, and angel investor with more than a decade of experience in the digital marketing and technology sector. She has overseen multiple high-profile acquisitions and has received numerous awards, including Business Insider’s 2015 Most Powerful Women in Mobile Advertising and EY’s 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year.

Perell oversees 500 employees across 21 offices worldwide as CEO of Amobee, which provides martech solutions for leading brands.

Marketing strategy: To succeed as a next-generation marketer in this rapidly changing industry, you have to be dynamic, embrace new technology and approaches, and be willing to test new things constantly.

Defining moment: The first company I was with went bankrupt, and I was laid off with the rest of my team. Overcoming that challenge is what triggered my desire to control my own destiny and become an entrepreneur. Resilience has been a core value at every company I’ve run since.


Advice to young marketers:
Fostering and maintaining relationships are key. What I see constantly in great companies and people with successful careers is they’re supported by great relationships that complement them and enable them to better understand people’s strengths and weaknesses. When you have the right people in your life, you can see opportunities more clearly or find they can be brought to you.
