Lord & Taylor has named Brendan Hoffman, the president and CEO of Neiman Marcus Direct, as its new president and CEO.
Hoffman’s appointment is effective October 6. He will report directly to Jeffrey Sherman, president and CEO of Hudson’s Bay Company. Both Lord & Taylor and Hudson’s Bay Co. are subsidiaries of Hudson Bay Trading Company.
The appointment, coupled with several other recent executive moves, will enable Hudson Bay Trading Company and its subsidiaries to generate economies of scale through improved purchasing, shared services and more efficient utilization of information technology, including Internet retailing, according to the company.
Hoffman replaces Jane Elfers, whose contract has expired. Elfers had been president and CEO of Lord & Taylor for the past nine years. Hoffman has led Neiman Marcus Direct since 2002.
