CRM and loyalty service provider Mall Networks rebranded as Cartera Commerce August 9.
“We decided to rebrand primarily because we had outgrown our previous branding,” said Tom Beecher, the company’s CEO. “We used to focus very much on online malls, and now we have a much broader role and view of what we do.”
The company, which was founded in 2005, has more than 800 online retail clients and 200 brick-and-mortar partners, including companies in the financial services, airlines and hospitality industries. Last September, USAA, a provider of financial services to current and former members of the US Armed Forces and their families, launched an online loyalty program with the firm.
The new name comes from the Spanish word meaning “wallet.”
“That actually fits pretty nicely with what we do in terms of driving great shopping programs and value for consumers, merchants and loyalty sponsors,” Beecher said.
Cartera also said its annual revenue grew by more than 100% in fiscal year 2010, which ended March 31, compared to the previous year. It was the third consecutive year the company reported triple-digit growth.
Beecher declined to disclose specific revenue figures for the company, which is not publicly traded.
