MarketLive, Inc., an e-commerce software and service provider for midsize retailers, announced a “commerce as a service” platform this week, which it says will allow for custom application development and improved integration with back-end systems.
Called “MarketLive Intelligent Commerce,” the suite of services will allow developers with MarketLive’s e-commerce clients to share the company’s applications, technology and best practices, said Mark Pierce, CEO of MarketLive.
With more than 100 clients, MarketLive “serves as a hub of commerce technology and strategy innovation,” said Pierce.
Further, he said, the platform will allow midsize online retailers to access e-commerce technologies on a subscription basis to help run their business.
MarketLive merchants, developers and partners also will be able to share ideas, drive innovation and exchange technologies for the platform on a new facilitated, members-only online forum.
