MasterCard International, Purchase, NY, and search engine Excite, Redwood City, CA, (www.excite.com) announced the start of a multiyear strategic marketing alliance that will focus on building consumer awareness of the benefits of shopping online.
The agreement makes MasterCard the exclusive payment system sponsor of Excite's Shopping Channel. The companies aim to develop and implement programs and technologies to provide one-stop online shopping. The program aims to educate consumers that shopping on the Web can be fast, easy and safe; to build consumer awareness of the Excite Shopping Channel; and to promote MasterCard as the preferred way to purchase products on the Web.
