Merkle has expanded its global footprint with the acquisition of Comet Global Consulting. It’s the performance-based agency’s third and largest U.K. conquest in the past year, following the purchase of programmatic agency Periscopix and marketing solutions provider DBG. The addition moves Merkle’s European employee total past 500.
Counting its U.S. acquisition activity, Comet marks Merkle’s eighth purchase since April 2014.
Comet specializes in inbound and outbound CRM and real-time decision management solutions. Its staff of 300 serves a client list that includes the Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Life, DIRECTV, and Sky. Founded in 2006, it’s found success through partnerships with software providers the likes of IBM, Pegasystems, and SAS.
“Merkle is a great fit for us,” said Sam Taverner, Comet’s U.K. managing director. “They are tech-savvy digital marketers who understand the importance of what Comet does—help large enterprises build relevant and valuable interactions with their customers.”
Comet has offices in London, Barcelona, and Atlanta.
