Nothing has officially released its latest operating system, Nothing OS 3.0 (NOS 3.0), based on Android 15. The update brings a range of new features designed to improve customization, organization, and user interaction. One of the key additions is the new Nothing Gallery app.
It includes an advanced search function and expanded editing tools such as filters, markup options, and suggestions. The app aims to give users more control over photo management and editing capabilities. NOS 3.0 also introduces Shared Widgets.
This feature allows users to display shared widgets on a newly designed, customizable lock screen. However, it is currently limited to Nothing devices and only supports square-shaped photo widgets.

The company has stated that further widget support is under development. The update includes productivity enhancements like the Countdown Widget, which will be available on Google Play later this month via the Nothing Widgets app. Additionally, the new AI-powered Smart Drawer automatically categorizes apps into folders for a more organized interface.
Other improvements include updates to the enhanced Pop-up View, changes to typography, and visual and performance adjustments to improve overall functionality. The rollout of NOS 3.0 starts with the Nothing Phone (2) and Phone (2a), with updates expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The Nothing Phone (1), Phone (2a) Plus, and CMF Phone 1 are set to receive the update in early 2025.
While the update introduces several new features, some limitations exist, such as restricted widget sharing and staggered rollout timelines. Further developments and refinements are expected as Nothing continues to update its operating system.
