The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces, police, and other security and intelligence agencies for their service throughout 2024. In a statement signed by Major General Adamu Laka, the National Coordinator for the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Ribadu also thanked the families of these personnel for their support. “Your sacrifices on the front lines, despite the harshest conditions, demonstrate staunch patriotism, courage, and dedication to safeguarding the Nation’s sovereignty and security,” Ribadu said.

He highlighted the nation’s resilience in the face of security challenges and stressed the importance of collective effort in maintaining peace. Ribadu attributed the successes of 2024 to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, noting that his political will and strategic guidance had sustained security efforts. Reflecting on 2024, Ribadu acknowledged challenges such as the resurgence of the Lakurawa Terrorist Group in the Northwest and acts of sabotage on critical national infrastructure.
