Mobile marketing firm Opera Telecom has partnered with mobile content services firm Motricity in a move to target US consumers via the mobile phone.
Using Motricity’s mobile messaging aggregation platform, Fuel Gateway, London-based Opera Telecom can connect to consumers within the Motricity network, which includes more than 98 percent of the US mobile subscriber base.
“If you look at what is going on in the mobile industry right now, there is a lot of focus on the positive customer experience, and making sure that the customer understands how the mobile communications work,” said Steve Leonard, general manager of off-deck at Motricity.
Leonard would not disclose how Opera would be using the Motricity platform, but Opera works with brands and media groups to communicate via interactive mobile campaigns.
Opera’s mobile marketing platform, Dragon, was named the “No. 1 Mobile Agency in 2006 in the UK” by New Media Age.
