Prospectiv debuts Eversave Travel newsletter

E-mail marketing firm Prospectiv has debuted a new travel newsletter for its Eversave online property called Eversave Travel.

The newsletter lets consumers sign up to receive information about travel via e-mail. The newsletters, which go out once or twice a week, include editorial content and advertising based on the editorial. The ads include content from hotels, airlines, cruises and state tourism boards and can be sponsored by one or more advertisers.

The Texas State Tourism Board, Colorado State Tourism Board and Daytona Beach Tourism Board have all sponsored newsletters. The Daytona Beach newsletter includes editorial content about beaches, surrounded by special offers for Daytona Beach.

“Travel has always been a pretty big category of ours,” said Jere Doyle, president/CEO of Prospectiv. “In our survey to consumers, people told us that they wanted to receive information about travel via e-mail.”

Prospectiv polled consumers on how they prefer to conduct their travel planning and research and found that 72% are looking for travel discounts through online resources and use the Internet as their primary resource for researching travel information and special offers. In addition, the survey found that 60% of those polled prefer to learn about travel offers through online resources they select or sign up for, including e-mail newsletters, electronic vouchers/coupons and promotional Web sites.

According to Doyle, since the firm did a soft launch of the newsletter in May, more than 100,000 people have signed up to receive it. About 15,000-17,500 people continue to sign up each week.
