Protect-A-Bed’s “Dream Dorm” Pinterest contest is a snoozer

While using Pinterest to target college students is a credible idea, Protect-A-Bed‘s clunky execution of its “Dream Dorm” pin-to-win contest is a snoozefest.

Visitors to the bedding protection company’s Pinterest page were encouraged to pin examples of their favorite Protect-A-Bed products, as well as images of awesome dorm rooms, for their chance to win a dorm room makeover. Supposedly, the initiative is meant to educate prospective customers about the benefits of Protect-A-Bed’s new “Healthy Sleep Zone Solution” products, which, according to its website, helps users better deal with health-related sleep issues such as incontinence, bedwetting, and dermatitis.

Not surprisingly, reaction to the contest was lackluster at best. The contest began on August 15 and by August 23, just three days before its official end, there were only 40 repins, seven comments, and four “likes.”
