Publicis Groupe has reported year-over-year organic revenue growth of 5.4% for the first quarter of 2008.
“Our margins and financial indicators in the first quarter were in line with our plans,” said Maurice Levy, chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe, in a statement.
Levy called the first quarter growth “healthy” and speculated that the media group’s healthcare communications business should be “back to positive growth before the end of the year.”
Publicis Groupe is the parent company of Digitas, Starcom Mediavest, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis Dialog, Publicis Modem and Arc Worldwide, among hundreds of other agencies in 104 countries around the world.
The Paris-based media group reported $1.9 billion in new business during the first quarter of 2008. New account wins included Delta by Digitas, Bank of America by Starcom Mediavest and Miller by Saatchi & Saatchi.
In North America, the strong growth was largely driven by Publicis Groupe’s digital and media businesses, the company said. Despite a difficult economy, the media group said it expects “good growth” in 2008.
