PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, recently signed a multi-year partnership with PUMA India as a brand ambassador. To celebrate this landmark moment, the company changed the spelling of its brand signage in various stores to “PVMA.”
This change led to speculation that it could be a spelling mistake. However, when a fan took to social media to share a photo of a store and asked about the apparent error, Sindhu replied, “I did.”
As part of the agreement, PUMA will launch Sindhu-specific products and release a special high-performance range for badminton players, including footwear, accessories, and apparel.
Sindhu expressed her excitement about the partnership, saying, “Badminton has been a platform for growth and self-discovery for me, and through this partnership, I want to inspire others, especially women, to take risks, believe in themselves, and aim higher.”
PUMA boasts a star-studded client roster that includes Harmanpreet Kaur, Mohammed Shami, Mary Kom, Usain Bolt, and Neymar Jr., among others.
