E-mail services firm Return Path Inc. has debuted an e-mail rendering platform for mobile devices.
Marketers can now use Return Path’s Sender Score Campaign Preview service to see how e-mail campaigns will render on smartphone devices.
“The reason that we chose to add mobile is that there is a lot of market research that shows that consumers are now reading their e-mail on mobile devices more often,” said George Bilbrey, general manager of delivery assurance at Return Path.
The new rendering service aims to address the challenge of consumers viewing e-mails that were designed for desktop computers on the smaller mobile screen.
“The available real estate on a mobile device is much smaller, and images do not always show up on the mobile phone,” added Bilbrey. “Instead, you just see the code with a link to the image, which looks bad.”
In addition to adding mobile rendering, Sender Score Campaign Preview has added the capability to view e-mail campaigns, prior to delivery, in seven e-mail readers internationally, including France, Germany and the UK.
