List companies RMI Direct Marketing Inc. and DJ Associates announced on May 30 plans to join their two businesses as of June 2, citing synergy in customer focus and aligning of service strengths as a reason for the partnership.
DJ Associates, a 27-year-old company based in Ridgefield, CT, will be absorbed into RMI’s Danbury, CT, headquarters. Satellite offices in Conway, NH, and Charlotte, NC, will remain.
“We’re excited,” DJ Associates founder and president Kathy Duggan-Josephs told DMNews. “The real strength of this partnership is that we each have a mission statement that recognizes that our business is all about the clients.”
Duggan-Josephs said there were no planned staff reductions due to the deal. The DJ Associates name will be discontinued.
Both Duggan-Josephs and RMI president Tally Maffucci emphasized that the two companies were each independent list companies and looking to remain unobligated to shareholders.
Maffucci explained that the partnership was not in response to an economic decline. “We hope this allows us to continue our positive momentum and offer additional services to our clients,” she said.
