Hello Direct Inc., San Jose, CA, reported that sales for the first quarter ended March 31 rose 12.4 percent to $17.9 million, from $15.9 million for the first quarter last year. Net income was $603,000, an increase of 101 percent over last year's $300,000.
“By successfully streamlining our product offering, focusing on higher-margin items and marketing to higher-value customer segments, we are achieving our goal of increased profitability,” said Alec Glover, Hello Direct's president and CEO. “In addition, through increased staffing and internal training programs, we have strengthened our outbound telemarketing capability and are now better positioned to take advantage of the opportunities in the growing corporate and call-center markets.”
