E-commerce software company ShopIgniter has launched a social media component to its platform.
The company’s social e-commerce engine is designed to help retailers and brand manufacturers extend their reach through social networking sites, like Facebook, and monetize these efforts.
“[The ShopIgniter] social commerce engine allows companies to integrate a Facebook store within their existing eCommerce system,” said Matt Compton, CEO of ShopIgniter.
Features include a Facebook store, reviews and a social promotion engine that offers couponing, coupon referrals, group-based promotions, private access sales and flash sales.
“Facebook is a main source where people go and network,” said Michael Matossian, CEO of SoundEarphones.com, an earphone e-retailer that is a client of ShopIgniter. “I’ve seen sales coming through with the ability to purchase. This is a new way that people can easily purchase from inside the Facebook store.”
ShopIgniter’s social eCommerce engine enables companies to control areas such as products, pricing, options, categories and collections in a branded Facebook application.
