Success for Women, an offshoot of the year-old Success, has hit newsstands with a soft launch.
Bookstores nationwide will distribute 50,000 copies of the women’s title as a special issue of Success, and another 17,000 copies will be distributed to attendees of this month’s Women’s Conference in Long Beach, CA. Success for Women will launch as a bimonthly next spring, targeting women ages 28 to retirement who are interested in balancing their careers with their home lives.
“The feedback that we got from women about Success was that it was really great, but they wanted something more focused on women,” explained Erin Casey, editor of Success for Women. “I don’t think there’s another publication like this that is focused on whole-life success and addressing lifestyles and careers and money.”
The magazine will depend largely on events to boost sampling and brand recognition, with appearances planned for the Texas Women’s Conference and the biannual Success Symposium. Success for Women also is launching a twice-monthly e-zine to build consumer interest through the official 2009 launch. The title’s Web site, www.sfw.com, is already up and running.
Casey said Success for Women would use corporate partnerships and existing Success Media lists to help build the Success for Women subscriber base. She added that households already subscribing to Success would be targeted, but that Success for Women is aiming for a slightly younger demographic.
Success magazine had a total paid circulation of 651,497 as of June 30.
