Taschen’s book, A History of Advertising, a visual pleasure

Art book manufacturer Taschen has some great new advertising and design related titles including “A History of Advertising,” a fun read on the history of the industry that harkens back to the early days of the first Coca Cola ads, and Camel cigarette ads and the days of novel long text ads in teh 50s and 60s. The book looks at the use of the color red and its historical importance in ads (was this on Virgin America’s read list?), and airline ads from the 60s and 70s which are always a pleasure to look at. A fun read for anyone who wants to learn more about the use of communications to sell ideas.
