Days later, people are still talking about Super Bowl XLIX ads. From Nationwide’s morbid child-death spot to Budweiser’s touching lost-puppy piece, social media hasn’t been the same since Sunday’s Big Game. Social analytics company Netbase reports that the Super Bowl ads which generated the most buzz came from these companies:
-
McDonald’s
-
Nationwide
-
Budweiser
-
Always
-
Coca-Cola
-
Skittles
-
Nissan
-
Doritos
-
Clash of Clans
- Microsoft
Here is some of the Twitter chatter about the ads that’s pervaded social since the game.
The memorable superbowl ads (for me): it came down to those selling authenticity and those actually being authentic.

The Superbowl ads this year seemed to want me NOT to buy their products- especially Bud and Nationwide. WTF guys?

Coca-Cola, @Microsoft and McDonalds have the best #SuperBowl ads this year. Especially Coke’s #MakeItHappy

My favorite #SuperBowl ads: Always #LikeAGirl and Nissan #withdad, hands down. Best funny ad: Fiat Blue Pill.

It’s interesting that the only video game Superbowl ads were mobile games with microtransaction ecosystems (e.g. Clash of Clans).

Reflecting on #SuperBowl ads, big diff watching alone prior vs with big loud group on game day. Nuances get lost.

Was pretty underwhelmed by a lot of yesterday’s Superbowl ads, but the Always one was well done and…MINDY.
