Transcontinental Inc. has appointed Dan Mariani general manager for its database marketing business.
In his new role, he will oversee all operations and business development, as well as provide strategic direction for Transcontinental Database Marketing.
Previously, Mariani held the position of VP of credit card marketing for Home Depot, at Citigroup.
Nicky Milner, VP of Transcontinental, said Mariani’s “extensive experience” in the was a factor in his hiring, particularly his expertise in behavioral modeling and analytics.
She said the goals of Transcontinental Database Marketing with Mr. Mariani at the helm would include driving business development and building strategic alliances.
“As the marketing community continues to focus on delivering more targeted and segmented messages to their customers, the team at Transcontinental can help them extract consumer insights from their data, and to turn those insights into campaigns that drive measurable improvements in business performance,” Milner told DMNews in an e-mail.
She said Transcontinental is “committed to the expansion of our business in Database Marketing, and will be supporting the growth strategy as required.”
Mariani received a B.S. and a MBA from the University of Toronto. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mariani serves as an MBA instructor in marketing strategy at the York University Schulich Institute and teaches continuing education courses in marketing at the University of Toronto.
Transcontinental is the largest printer in Canada and sixth-largest in North America
