Apple appears to be developing a new app called “Invites” that could help users organize meetings and events. References to the unreleased app were first spotted in an iOS 18.2 beta, but the code was later removed. However, it has reappeared in the iOS 18.3 beta 2, suggesting that Apple is still actively working on the project.

While Apple’s Calendar app already offers event planning features, the Invites app is expected to provide additional functionality. The app seems to integrate with iCloud and may even have a web version accessible through iCloud.com. It also connects with a new iOS 18 feature called GroupKit, which manages database models for groups of people.

The Invites app is likely to display a list of invitees and track their attendance confirmations.

It is not yet clear whether it will be a standalone app or integrated with other system components, such as a mini iMessage app.

Apple did not mention the Invites app during WWDC 2024 when iOS 18 was announced, indicating that the company might still be experimenting with the idea. There is a possibility that the app could be scrapped or postponed to a future iOS version. In October, reports suggested that Invites might incorporate features from Game Center.

Although Apple has been internally testing the app in builds of iOS 18, it could still be delayed to iOS 19. As more information becomes available, users can expect updates on the development and release of the Invites app. The app has the potential to transform the way users plan and manage events, making it more accessible and streamlined for everyday use.
