About Direct Message News

Clarity begins where the headline ends.

DMNews is an independent digital publication about the forces shaping ordinary life: public decisions, global systems, technology, culture, and human behavior.

We do not add more noise to a story. We identify the consequence hidden inside it.

Direct Message News is our institutional editorial voice. It lets the publication take responsibility for work produced through a modern newsroom process, including research, writing, editing, and carefully disclosed AI assistance.

When an individual writer or human editor is credited, that credit describes a real contribution. We do not invent expertise, interviews, or authority that the reporting does not have.

What we cover

Three lenses.
One editorial standard.

Each lens starts with a different question, but every story must show its work.

01

Local Consequences

Public decisions translated into the cost, friction, and change residents will actually feel.

02

The World Underneath

Power, money, technology, and institutions examined beyond the official explanation.

03

Inside You

Recognizable patterns in relationships, identity, attention, and everyday behavior.

Our method

Tension.
Noise.
The Direct Message.

We begin with what does not fit. We separate the evidence from the slogans around it. Then we state the clearest conclusion the record supports, including who carries the cost and what remains uncertain.

Accountability

Trust needs visible reasons.

  • SourcesFactual claims link to the documents or reporting that support them.
  • BylinesThe credited author is the author selected in WordPress. We do not infer identity from a slug.
  • Human reviewA named editor appears only when that person approved the article.
  • AI assistanceAI may support production. Direct Message News remains accountable for accuracy and corrections.

Since 1979

A publication built to keep changing.

DMNews began as Direct Marketing News in 1979. The subjects and distribution have changed with the media industry, but the useful question has stayed the same: what is really shaping the decision in front of us?

Today the publication is part of Brown Brothers Media. Editorial decisions remain independent of advertisers and sponsors.
