This assembly includes renowned scientists, accomplished engineers, and innovative academics who will operate from four major national laboratories to advance clean energy technology and enhance the USA’s energy efficiency.
The program aims to champion energy security, economic growth, and environmental integrity through cleaner, cheaper, and more accessible energy creation. The team will refine existing technology and develop new strategies, with efficiency and reducing greenhouse gases as the central ambitions. They will work together, combining their unique skills to create practical, clean energy solutions.

With 153 start-ups created, over 2,343 jobs generated, and follow-on funding of about $2.73 billion, it illustrates a positive influence beyond the immediate economic impact. The initiative provides participants with a two-year timeframe to conduct significant research on their innovative technologies and aids in developing their entrepreneurial abilities. The Under Secretary, Geraldine Richmond, lauded the influential contributions of past participants during the upcoming 2023 Demo Day event and expressed enthusiasm about what the new innovators will bring to the American energy and manufacturing sectors.
Innovators such as Advait Holkar, Carla Pinzon, and Nosa Edoimioya from Berkeley, Adam Stevens, Brian Iezzi, and Jordan Cannon from Oak Ridge, are joining the program. These individuals are set to work on projects ranging from small molecule manufacturing and grid modernization to software-driven robotics and biodegradability enhancement, driving innovation and sustainability in their communities.
