New data from Warc’s Global Marketing Index (GMI) shows that marketing budgets continued to fall in July, with the Americas being the only region to contribute to net growth.
“There was a slowdown in the headline global marketing index in July suggesting that the outlook for global marketers is less optimistic than we’ve seen in recent months,” said Suzy Young, data and journals director at Warc, “But the index continues to indicate overall growth, which is encouraging, and we’re in a better position than we were this time last year.”
Warc’s GMI tracks conditions amongst marketers, taking into account marketing budgets, trading conditions and staffing levels. The overall GMI this month is at 54.3, which is in the positive but still a lower number than last months 55.9.
