Ovarian Cancer Action (OCA), a London-based non-profit, recently underwent a successful rebranding by design company, Revolt—the rebrand aimed to promote ovarian cancer awareness and the importance of early detection and intervention. Revolt creatively incorporated these key messages into OCA’s new visual identity, enhancing relevance and distinction. The revamped design extends across all OCA operations, fostering consistent public communication.

As part of the rebranding, OCA plans to escalate its ovarian cancer research and advocacy efforts. The rebrand provided a unique identity for OCA, separating it from similar organizations, primarily through alterations to its name and tone. This distinction supports OCA’s mission to eradicate ovarian cancer.

Revolt’s Creative Director, Myron Darlington, advocated for the reinvention of industry graphic standards, maintaining ties to recognized symbols like the teal color and the cancer ribbon. This balance between renovation and continuity was pivotal in shaping the rebrand.

Revolt used the rebrand to introduce a compelling visual motif, reimagining the globally recognized cancer ribbon as an ‘O’ for the new logo.

Rebrand enhances ovarian cancer advocacy

This design brilliantly links OCA’s purpose with its visual identity, symbolizing ovarian cancer awareness. The new logo effectively marries art with advocacy, embodying OCA’s core mission.

The rebrand enhanced OCA’s visual appearance with moving illustrations from French artist Cécile Dormeau. Her work realistically depicts the experiences of ovarian cancer patients and emphasizes the importance of awareness. To further support this cause, OCA will introduce interactive workshops and seminars to provide additional resources for those battling the disease.

The rebrand also showcased a unique color scheme, integrating the traditional teal with vibrant orange, blue, and pink tones. Each color represents a core principle of OCA: vital energy, trusted expertise, and unwavering positivity. This innovative palette further communicates OCA’s identity to the world.

Shahina Ahmed, Senior Designer at Revolt, stated that the rebrand marks a new chapter for OCA’s mission against ovarian cancer. The redesigned logo and brand aesthetic symbolize the strength and hope within the ovarian cancer community. Lastly, the rebranding aims to energize the OCA community, creating a powerful platform to deliver their vision and support to larger audiences.
