What was wrong with the old one?
Despite sentiment analysis that showed consumers actually liked the existing Yahoo logo the way it is, the company announced that it will be changing its logo in the next 30 days, with a grand reveal on Sept. 4th.
To get consumers talking about it, Yahoo has made the whole thing a marketing campaign, led by chief marketing officer Kathy Savitt, titled “30 Days of Change.” Every day, for the next 30 days, Yahoo will post a new logo design on its Tumblr (they finally have a use for Tumblr!) Here’s the first one that was posted today.
Which looks a little underwhelming, but there’s 29 more to go. And if you’re impatient, here’s a quick glance at what all the logos will look like.
