“I have watched LinkedIn grow and innovate into a remarkable talent, advertising, and educational platform, all while helping so many people learn and grow as professionals,” she wrote.

LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky stated, “We are the world’s career coach, classroom, and talent marketplace – and I can’t wait to take our platform to the next billion people around the world.”

The appointment comes eight months after the departure of Melissa Selcher, who served as LinkedIn’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for four years. Jensen’s role has been newly created, combining marketing and strategy responsibilities. LinkedIn has been making strides in integrating AI tools for its users, enhancing functionalities for posting, hiring, and selling.

The platform has also seen success with video content, experiencing a 36% increase in video views year-over-year. Financial results have underscored this momentum, with a 10% year-on-year increase in revenue. The company’s consistent brand identity has been a cornerstone of its success.

Former CMO Selcher recently praised the platform for its clear mission and identity, stating, “The fact we’re super clear on who we are, why we exist, and why people should use the platform has been really helpful in building the brand and steering the company.”

As Jensen steps into her new role, she will be tasked with maintaining and building upon LinkedIn’s strong brand while driving the company’s marketing and strategic vision forward.
